Improve Your English Language Skills

Our General English Plus Course is a 21 hour, full-time course that will help you improve all your English language skills. Speaking, listening, reading and writing. Start when you want to and study for a few weeks or stay with us for the whole year. This course will really help you in accelerating your English language ability quickly. It is more intense than our standard General English course but well worth it.

We have tried to create a family atmosphere throughout the school and encourage teachers and students to socialise together.

What was the best experience in a lesson/the company?
I think being part of the Imagine English family and learning in small classes.

Can you recommend something to do in Liverpool?
I would recommend the Walker Gallery to see some really good art and then go to the Shipping Forecast for a drink.

In your experience what is the most difficult for students to learn?
I think it`s using the tenses correctly, especially Present Perfect, Past Simple and Past Perfect, because they are slightly different in every language.

What makes your lessons/the company unique?
My lessons: I`d like to think my lessons are unique because of the fact that you can learn anything you`d like to, although there is a basic structure to the lessons, I try to make them as flexible as possible.
The school: That`s easy! Everyone knows everyone and there is an incredibly friendly atmosphere which I have never seen at another school.

What was the best experience in a lesson/the company?
My favourite experience so far was when Amanda and Tim took me out for my birthday with many students and staff. It was a very kind thing to do, typical of them, and a lot of fun!

In your experience what is the most difficult for students to learn?
Phrasal verbs

What makes your lessons/ the company unique?
All of the teachers and everyone that works here focuses on each student individually and is interested in who they are and where they come from etc. This makes the school really feel like a family.

What was the best experience in a lesson/the company?
The best experience I have had is when you can see progress in the students and they are able to make up to the next level. Seeing the students achieve what the want to achieve is really rewarding!

It is a good idea to take a stroll along the docks.

In your experience what is the most difficult for students to learn?
Mixed conditionals since two parts of the conditional sentences refer to two different periods.

Engaging activities I choose to accomplish my lesson plan objectives.

What was the best experience in a lesson/the company?
Once I used to debate to develop my students` argumentation skills and I was impressed with the way they structured and organized thoughts as well as teamwork.

In your experience what is the most difficult for students to learn?
Narrative tenses

What makes your lessons/the company unique?
Less formal, more relaxed and personal
There are fewer students in each class, so students receive more attention than they would if there were many students in each class.

What was the best experience in a lesson/the company?
Teaching my students when to use the past perfect.
(I have only been teaching at Imagine English for four days when the questionnaire was taken.)
