Make the most of your time whilst studying English in Liverpool. Despite the recent government restrictions, Imagine English have come up with a range of activities that you can do to enjoy Liverpool and the surrounding areas safely. We know it is a scary time, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the wonderful city of Liverpool.
Hilbrid Island
There are three small islands located just off the coastline of West Kirkby. You have to plan your visit to these Islands around the times of the tide. This stunning 2km walk from West Kirkby beach to the Islands can be accessed at low tide. Put on your walking boots and head out to the islands with a picnic. From the Island you get the stunning view of the North Wales coastline. If you are lucky then you might get to see Seals in the water.
Three Parks
Did you know Liverpool has three Grade 2 listed parks? Princes Park, Sefton Park and Calderstone are all in reachable distance from the city centre. These parks have everything. From historical monuments, fishing facilities, picnic areas and amble space to exercise. There is so much space to enjoy. Calderstones Park is not just another pretty looking park. It’s home to ancient megaliths that are said to be older than Stonehenge, this is in fact what the park is named after.
Museums
The good news it that Liverpool’s variety of cultural museums and art galleries remain open. That isn’t the end of the good news, the majority of them are free to access. Liverpool has a whole host of museums display exhibits from Ancient Egypt, International Slavery and the Titanic. There is so much you can learn in Liverpool. Studying English in Liverpool gives you the potential to learn much more than just the language.
Crosby Beach
These spectacular sculptures by Antony Gormley are on Crosby beach. Another Place consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea. Go for a stroll along the beach with the amazingly locally sourced Crosby Coffee. Wrap up warm with your coffee and enjoy a brisk walk along the coastline.
The Wirral Circular Route
Enjoy the beautiful scenery, fresh air in a safe environment. The Wirral Circular Route offers a fully off-road cycle route that starts and ends from Seacombe Ferry Terminal. You can get the famous “Ferry across the Mersey” from Liverpool’s Pier Head Terminal. This route will give you the chance to explore the natural beauties of the Wirral, including coastline, parks, estuary’s, nature reserves and world class golf courses. Combine studying English in Liverpool with a day of fun and fitness outside on the Wirral.
